DEVASTATED

I unconsciously walked into the water
Wanting to free myself from the grief
I grabbed to my death pulse

The moon gave no light but shade
The fish dead, the living passed away
My legs dived into the deep, as in in a nightmare
Still anxiously desire to stop this bleeding

Stepped on a rock
Felt its hard edges
Still alive, I thought
Looked around, a man approaching

Saw him weeping words of love
Felt afraid of this strong feeling
Yet surrender to his skin
His eyes full of flowers
His manly tender hands

Shallow water
The moon stopped yielding
A fish jumped by
I get hold of this man’s hand
Embraced him in an eternal one

Walked together to the shore
A seagull smiled
My fears washed away lost in his compassion
I was a mermaid again and he was my first love
