Biografia

Edwin Eriata Oribhabor

Eriata Oribhabor started writing his poems in Naija langwej –‘‘Abuja na Kpangba An Oda Puem Dem – (IFRA-Oribhabor, 2010).’’ Subsequently, he edited an anthology of poems in the language titled; ‘‘If Yu Hie Se A De Prizin – (SFEBV-2012) ’’ He is the Convener/Co-ordinator of the Abuja version of the 100Thousand Poets for Change (100TPC) - an initiative of Michael Rothenberg II and Terri Carrion both in the United States of America who are committed to using the ‘‘actions and events,’’ of the organisation ‘‘to seize and redirect the political and social dialogue of the day and turn the narrative of civilization towards peace and sustainability.’’

Having grown up in a rich Esan cultural tradition where the ‘‘words of the elders’’ are more or less ‘‘cast in stone’’, Eriata gladly reflects upon the flow of diverse experiences from his background for the production of this collection – a sweet admixture of old and new ideologies as a clarion call to our leaders irrespective of their positions to place high premium on the environment that we live because, it speaks volume on the nature, content and character of its inhabitants.

Eriata is the Chairman, Association of Nigerian Authors (ANA), Abuja Chapter and works with the Public Affairs Unit of the Department of Petroleum Resources, Abuja.
