INTERNATIONAL BOOK FAIR 2017 (3RD GROUP) From February 8th to February 19th, 2017 (12 nights)

Recreational and cultural Tour: Havana-Varadero-Las Terrazas-Playa Larga-Viñales

-Date: Wednesday, February 8th, 2017

All day: Reception of participants in private rent houses located in Vedado

Lunch time: according to arrival time.

Evening: Welcoming Supper (chosen place)

-Date: Thursday, February 9th, 2017

Morning: Accreditation of participants at the fairgrounds and reorganization of the Stand ¨Poets of the World¨ (Poetas del mundo). (Delivery of books by participating writers)

A visit to The Morro Castle (el Castillo del Morro) regarded to be a historical and cultural heritage. It offers a panoramic view of Havana Bay. It has been visited by thousands of tourists from different parts of the world that travel to the Cuban Capital for dissimilar reasons.


Afternoon: Lunch at the Morro-Cabaña Complex.

Evening: Dinner at La Roca restaurant located in Vedado (optional night recreation or coordinated with the guide).

-Date: Friday, February 10th, 2017

Morning: Historical Tour around Old Havana.

Planetarium of Havana (Planetario de La Habana): Scientific and cultural center located in Old Havana thanks to a construction project carried out between the Japanese Government and the City Historian’s Office. The Planetarium has an interactive area and an astronomical observatory. You will be able to see a reconstruction of The Solar System, with model planets and their movements.

Old Square: The Old Square emerged as an open space in 1559. At first it was the site of executions and processions. Later on (in the 18th century) the square was turned into a popular market and was called Plaza del Mercado (Market Square). The square has also been identified by other names such as Royal Square, Major Square, and Constitution Square. It’s more spacious than Plaza de Armas and it also has a more active community presence (Cubans still occupy homes on two sides).

José Martí’s Native Home: It was constituted a museum in 1925 and declared National Monument in 1949. Clothing items, documents and other personal objects are treasured in the house where the most renowned of all Cubans was born on January 28th, 1853.

-Date: Saturday, February 11th, 2017

Trip to Varadero: Varadero is a well-known natural recreation resort in Cuba. It is located 130 kilometers east from Havana in the province of Matanzas. Its 22 kilometers of seashore border to the north with the Straits of Florida, to the south with Cardenas Bay, to the east with Cardenas City and to the west with Sabana-Camaguey islands. This is an excellent opportunity to spend a day at the beach.( Lunch and air-conditioned transportation are included).          

Evening: Dinner at La Roca restaurant located in Vedado (optional night recreation or coordinated with the guide).

-Date: Sunday, February 12th, 2017

-Tour to Las Terrazas: rural touristic community embracing sustainable development, located along the San Juan River, inside la Sierra del Rosario (Rosario Mountain Range) in Artemisa. It is located 76km away from Havana and it is the result of one of UNESCO’s projects begun in 1971 to protect natural resources of the biosphere. You will be able to enjoy the natural pools “Baños del San Juan” known throughout the world for their curative sulfurous waters. It is an excellent opportunity to spend a day in direct contact with nature. (Air-conditioned transportation and lunch are included).

Evening: Dinner at La Roca restaurant located in Vedado (welcoming and presentation of the second group of poets) (optional night recreation or coordinated with the guide).

-Date: Monday, February 13th, 2017

Morning: City tour: an unforgettable tour through the main avenues of the Cuban capital on a double-decker bus that will let you enjoy an excellent scenery of the city.

Afternoon: Lunch at the National Aquarium of Cuba and the pleasure of seeing an underwater show.

Literary gathering ¨Sharing the Word¨ in a selected cultural institution (readings by poets)

Evening: Exchange of experiences and dinner at La Roca restaurant located in Vedado (optional night recreation or coordinated with the guide).

-Date: Tuesday, February 14th, 2017

Morning: An unforgettable visit to La Vigía Ranch, where Ernest Hemingway, the renowned American writer and Literature Nobel Prize (1954) lived.

Afternoon: Lunch at the Morro-Cabaña Complex

Literary gathering ¨Sharing the Word¨

Noche: Actividad presencial. Ceremonia “El Cañonazo” en el complejo cultural, museo, San Carlos de la Cabaña. Rememorada por soldados vestidos al estilo del siglo XVIII, que otrora indicaba el cierre de las murallas que protegían y delimitaban la ciudad. Uno de los momentos más atractivo que ofrece este recinto a sus nocturnos visitantes.

Evening: Activity of compulsory attendance. El Cañonazo is a ceremony that takes place at the cultural complex and museum ¨San Carlos de la Cabaña¨. This event is held by soldiers in 18th century uniforms in remembrance of the ancient ceremony that in colonial times indicated the closure of the city gates, which protected and delimited the city. This is one of the most appealing moments that this resort offers to its night visitors.

Dinner at La Roca restaurant located in Vedado or at the Morro Complex (depending on the available time).

-Date: Wednesday, February 15th, 2017

Morning: Visit to José Martí Memorial Museum, located in the main square of Havana, Cuba. It is one of the largest squares in the world, with 72 thousand square meters. Built during the government of Fulgencio Batista, it was originally called Civic Square. Its international recognition began with the Cuban Revolution in 1959. It encloses a monumental sculpture to José Martí, the greatest thinker of all Cubans, herald of the modernist movement and important personality for the independence ideology in America. The lookout of the Monument (located 129 meters above sea level) is the highest point in the city and offers a panoramic view of Havana (you can enjoy the scenery 50 km away)

Literary gathering ¨Sharing the Word¨

Evening: Dinner at a chosen restaurant. Exchange of experiences as members of the International Movement ¨Poets of the World¨. Farewell of poets from the first group.

 

VALOR DE PARTICIPACIÓN: 690 USD

Cubre: Acreditación y credencial en la FIL de La Habana; vender y/o  exponer sus libros en el Stand “Apostrophes Ediciones” que estará presente en la Feria del Libro Habana 2016; posibilidad de compartir con relevantes figuras de las letras, reconocidas internacionalmente, (conferencias, recitales de poesía, lecturas comentadas de novelas, cuentos, presentaciones de libros); Participar en un plan de actividades de cultura general y recreativo cultural  como programa alternativo, visitas a museos, teatros y lugares de interés histórico con guía profesional disponible para orientar a los participantes del proyecto; Servicio de traducción en inglés, francés y otros idiomas de ser necesario; Alojamiento en habitación compartida (8 noches), Excursiones, Transporte interno durante el evento, todas las comidas, visitas a exposiciones y museos, Actividades dirigidas. (No incluye bebidas extras durante las comidas)

 

TERCER GRUPO

PLAN GENERAL DE ACTIVIDADES PARA LOS INSCRIPTOS  (8-20 febrero 2017)

Los participantes de este grupo participan en las actividades del primer y segundo grupo.

VALOR DE PARTICIPACIÓN: 990 USD

Cubre: Acreditación y credencial en la FIL de La Habana; vender y/o  exponer sus libros en el Stand “Apostrophes Ediciones” que estará presente en la Feria del Libro Habana 2016; posibilidad de compartir con relevantes figuras de las letras, reconocidas internacionalmente, (conferencias, recitales de poesía, lecturas comentadas de novelas, cuentos, presentaciones de libros); Participar en un plan de actividades de cultura general y recreativo cultural  como programa alternativo, visitas a museos, teatros y lugares de interés histórico con guía profesional disponible para orientar a los participantes del proyecto; Servicio de traducción en inglés, francés y otros idiomas de ser necesario; Alojamiento en habitación compartida (12 noches), Excursiones, Transporte interno durante el evento, todas las comidas, visitas a exposiciones y museos, Actividades dirigidas.
